Attic Insulation

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, up to 40% of your home's energy can escape through an attic or crawl space. Many homes, especially older ones, have too little insulation in their attic to effectively regulate energy leakage, and some homes have no insulation at all.

Installing modern cellulose insulation can make a tremendous improvement in the overall comfort of your home, as well as greatly reduce your utility bills. In most cases, the recommended insulation can be blown right over your existing insulation. AHE is also able to accommodate more unique or antiquated attics, such as those with knob-and-tube wiring.

AHE has forged a partnership with the local environmental action not-for-profit, Rising Sun Energy Center. Among many other programs they offer, RSEC has received a grant to provide heavy subsidies for East Bay attic insulations. AHE has been contracted to provide this service, and the subsidized discount is passed along directly to the customers.

Pricing

Approximately 70% of the cost of installing this insulation is currently subsidized through a contract with RSEC. The discounted installation cost to AHE clients for is currently as low as $0.80/square foot,
