Heater Installation and Furnace Services

High Efficiency Furnace Installation

 Furnace Installation

If your home has rooms that struggle to maintain the comfortable temperature you desire, its possilbe your heating system needs an upgrade. Maybe you are looking to reduce your heating costs because your utility bills seem higher than they should be. Many older, outdated furnaces are responsible for higher bills and not being able to maintain a consistent temperature. Often we recommend a smaller system that will have longer run times and evenly heat the entire home. How do we know the smaller unit will meet the heating needs of the home? We design and install efficient heating systems using computer modeling software that assists us in correctly sizing the furnace and ducts. The software modeling helps us fine tune the exact air flow to each room. By applying the latest in building science to your system we can make sure your home is as comfortable as you want when you want it. We also install radiant heating systems and ductless heat pump systems for Bay Area homeowners with different heating needs or unqiue home designs.

Gas Furnace Installation

When it comes to heating and cooling equipment, bigger is not always better. Installing a correctly sized, high efficiency furnace can make a significant difference in improving the comfort of your home and dramatically lowering your utility bills. Some homeowners believe that the bigger their furnace the better it is for their home. This is a misconception that probably results from some HVAC contractors trying to sell the largest furnace possible. To keep your home comfortable with even temperatures, the  biggest furnace possible is not necessary. Whats more important is that the entire system is sized and design correctly and all ducts are appropriately sealed. Air sealing your home is also important as that ensures that the conditioned air is not immediatley escaping through leaks and cracks.

Sealed Furnace Duct Systems

The average duct system leaks 35% . In addition to properly sizing the system, we ensure that your duct systems are air tight. This is critical to system performance. At the end of every duct retrofit and furnace  installation we conduct a duct-blower test which measures the overall leakage. Building code typically requires a maximum of 15% leakage. We strive for less than 10% leakage.

Radiant Heating

Some homeowners request a radiant heating solution. These systems are also known as hydronic or baseboard heating systems Hydronic heating can increase the comfort of homes with cold bathroom tiles and make a cold  winter especially cozy.

Mini-Split Heat Pumps and Ductless Systems

A ductless heating system or heat pump is often a wise choice for some Bay Area homes or room additions. Sometimes a room addition provides a distinct challenge to add on to the existing ductwork that was designed only with the original floorplan in mind. A mini-split system can supply heating to a home addition without extensive modifications to the existing ductwork. Heat pumps and mini-split systems are small and flexible and provide a great means for controlling the temperature of individual rooms. Besides home additions this can be highly effective for a newer home that is already properly air sealed and relatively energy efficient. We are experienced at properly sizing mini-split systems or heat pumps and finding the best location in your home to install these types of heating systems.
