Typically, older furnace systems are outdated, oversized, and inefficient. Installing a high-efficiency and correctly sized heating system can make a significant difference in improving the comfort of your home and dramatically lowering your utility bills.

If your heating bills are high, your heating system is noisy, or anyone in your home struggles with allergies or respiratory issues, your heating system may be ready for replacement. Typical heating contractors that have “been doing it for 20 years” are prone to recommending an over-sized furnace, usually the same size as the one currently installed, because they wrongly believe that clients will be happy if the system provides a strong blast of hot air. On the other hand, often we recommend a smaller system that will have longer run times and evenly heat the entire home. How do we know the smaller unit will meet the heating needs of the home? We design and install new furnace systems using computer modeling software that assists us in correctly sizing the furnace and duct system, and helps us fine tune the exact air flow to each room. This allows us to install the most efficient furnace possible while insuring a consistent and even temperature though the entire house.

In addition to properly sizing the system, we ensure that our duct systems are air tight which is critical to system performance. The average duct system leaks 35% and we have tested brand new systems installed by reputable companies that are leaking even more. At the end of every duct system installation we conduct a duct-blower test which confirms the overall duct leakage. "Building code typically requires a maximum of 15% leakage and we strive for less than 10% leakage." At the end of our job we provide the homeowner with the test-out numbers of our work showing the level of tightness we achieved.
