The entire street of Solano Avenue between San Pablo and The Alameda is closed to traffic for the day while over 250,000 attendees enjoy all the activities during the day.
The day begins with a theme parade at 10 AM that features over 75 participants ranging from local school groups to belly dancers to participants from all over the state of California. With rides, games and educational booths for the kids to dozens of green living non-profits and organizations to over a hundred hand crafters showcasing their art the Solano Stroll promises an action packed day for all attendees. The Solano Stroll is an alcohol and tobacco free event making it suitable for families with children of all ages.
Special events for 2013 include all day belly dancing performances in honor of 90 year old dancer Jamila Salmpour’s birthday and a police motorcycle competition display hosted on Thousand Oaks School grounds.
Free shuttles from the North Berkeley BART station are provided or choose to ride your bicycle and receive free valet parking at Wells Fargo on the east end and by Sophia’s Café on the west end of Solano.
